Sample Deliverable
Specialty-Specific Training
Training built for the specialty, the role and the workflow.
Same system, different day. A hospitalist, an ED physician and a surgeon each open different views, orders and documentation, so each gets a different course.
Sample: one course outline per role
Each row would be expanded into its own session with scenarios and a short competency check.
| Role | Focus of the session | Core workflows covered | Format |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hospitalist | Admission to discharge | Admission orders, PowerPlans, daily progress note, discharge reconciliation | 2 hr hands-on, small group |
| ED physician | Fast triage and disposition | Tracking board, rapid orders, ED note, admit/discharge decision | 90 min hands-on, shift-aligned |
| Surgeon | Pre-op to post-op | Case requests, pre-op orders, op note, post-op order set | 90 min hands-on |
| Ambulatory provider | Visit flow | Pre-visit review, in-visit documentation, orders and referrals, in-basket | 2 hr hands-on |
| Advanced practice provider | Shared workflows with the physician | Co-signature, orders on behalf of, handoff | 90 min hands-on |
How it is built
- Interview the specialty lead and watch a real clinic or shift.
- List the 8 to 12 tasks that make up most of that role's day.
- Teach only those tasks first. Everything else becomes reference material.
- Close with a short practice scenario so the provider leaves having done the work once.
